Della Terra Mountain Chateau Wedding : The Goldens

I know you can find lots of crazy things on Craig’s List these days, but your spouse?   It didn’t start that way for this couple, but that’s exactly how it ended!   It actually all started with a bedroom set.  Caitlyn was the seller and Paul was the potential buyer.  As it turned out, Caitlyn had forgotten to give Paul the hardware after he purchased the set and that second meeting turned into a third, this time over dinner…..and the rest, they say “is history.”
Caitlyn and Paul love the outdoors, so their nature filled wedding theme made the entire day so personal and intimate.  The outdoor wedding ceremony at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park was gorgeous.  The olive green bridesmaid dresses, earthy colored florals, “hikers” cake topper, and table names of trails the two have hiked together (that the Father of the Bride handcrafted) tied everything all together.
A lovely dinner among family and friends with a dessert bar of unresistable homemade treats (complete with “to go” bags) made for a special celebration.  Best Wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Golden…..and thank you for the honor of capturing your special day!
Questionnaire from the bride
  • How did you two meet?

He purchased a bed from me on Craigslist. When we were loading the bedroom set we forgot a bag of hardware that went with the set. When we scheduled a time to connect to swap the hardware, he asked to take me to dinner and I accepted. The rest is history.

  • How did he propose?

We planned a backpacking trip in Glacier National Park, for which we had to apply for permits and get some special gear. When we arrived at the park, I asked him to pull over so I could take a picture of the Glacier National Park sign. I hopped out of the car quickly because it had began to sprinkle. When I turned around he had the ring in his hand and proposed marriage.

  • What unique or special touches are you incorporating on your special day?

We are very outdoorsy and truly enjoy hiking and backpacking together. Our wedding is taking place right outside Rocky Mountain National Park and we are incorporating a hiking theme into the whole day. Table numbers will actually be trailhead signs that my father made and the entire day will have a mountain-y feeling.

  • Where will you two be honeymooning?

We will be honeymooning in Europe. We are going to Switzerland, Italy, and Austria.
